Biography

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Human Interaction and Collaboration Team within the Information Engineering Laboratory, CSIRO ICT Centre. Our main effort is in advancing scientific understanding of how users interact, collaborate and operate in collaborative environments using novel forms of user interaction technologies. Specifically, I'm investigating techniques for use on large and high resolution displays.

Previous to this position, I was a researcher in the [braccetto] project at NICTA. The [braccetto] project investigates how the effective application of ICT in mixed presence groupware - software that connects local and remote participants in a shared visual workspace - can help geographically distributed teams collaborate more effectively.

Up until 2008, I was a PhD student at ViSLAB and Infomation Visualisation Research Group, School of Information Technologies at The University of Sydney. My PhD work focused on a novel interactive technique that allows bare hand interaction with large screens. My research was funded by the University of Sydney and the Faculty of Science, as well as the CMCRC, supervised by Assoc Prof. Masahiro Takatsuka and Prof. Peter Eades.
