Biography

Martin de Groot joined the CSIRO in 2007. He is currently applying his expertise in symbolic modeling and diagnostic reasoning to issues in the energy domain.

Since graduating in 1988, Martin has accumulated 13 years experience in the software industry. That experience includes working as a programmer on diverse systems from mainframe database applications down to PC based network monitoring tools. He has also been a test manager and has initiated two software start ups.

During his PhD candidature, Martin taught a wide variety of subjects in IT including programming, software engineering and professional ethics at UNSW. He was course developer and lecturer in software testing at the University of Sydney and for professional certification courses.

His research interest is in the development of energy services as a complementary demand side approach to electricity sector management.
