Biography
Peter has been in the computing industry for over 30 years, and has worked in Canberra, interstate and overseas. During his career he has worked on a large number of diverse projects including satellite tracking fishing vessels in the South Pacific, saving historical documents from World War Two and working on several personnel systems.
He is currently the project manager for the "Flood Extent Monitoring" which satellite imagery to identify surface water to produce daily flood maps for Australia. The flood maps are combined with the CSIRO's Digital Elevation Model of Australia to estimate the volume of water within a flood.
